The Shoes - Time Sensitive (Wet Sandal)
Another video of The Shoes, playing as a full band this time. The sound quality isn't amazing but it's just a little taster of some of the stuff we're doing. We'll have a CD recorded soon which will be much better but until then enjoy the video and let us know what you think. Thanks - The Shoes
Adam: Guitar and vocals, Chris: Bass and backing vocals, Mark: Guitar, Lewis: Drums
P.S. This one's for Nikki
- The song is called "Time Sensetive"
Lyrics:
I'm someone who's spent their whole life waiting
My patience is wearing thin
My eye's have been fixed on the horizon
Waiting for life to begin
Time's moving fast
I can feel it slipping away
In the past I would always say
You were way out of line
But that's all that's left to say
Some people spend a life of regret
Paying for one mistake
But you'd be happy just to see me
Drowning in your wake
Time's moving fast
I can feel it slipping away
In the past I would always say
You were way out of line
But that's all that's left to say
Time's moving fast
I can feel it slipping away
In the past I would always say
You were way out of line
But that's all that's left to say

The Shoes Perform!.....Un, Deux, Trois, Four A drunken night at the pub! We decided to grab a few instruments and play a few songs. Adam (singing) asks to please forgive the awful bit of singing (that may include all the singing for some) as we were rather drunk at the time. Adam: Guitar and vocals, Chris: Makeshift bass and backing vocals, Lewis: Drums, and Mark: Director of photography! P.S. ...

Top Notch Live Version Best On UA-cam
I believe that Ian McCulloch is the closest I will ever see to a being from another world, an extraterrestrial.
OMG he starts doing James Brown at 3:10!
Finally saw them last year at Cruel World. Fucking class 👏
Saw ian fall in the orchestra pit in Tampa 88 bed bugs and ballyhoo. Security got him back on stage and he killed it. Unbelievable show. Shows up at the masquerade in ybor city after the show and just tears it up. Dude couldn't have been nicer. Saw them in Chicago a week ago. They were awesome, sounded like 88.
えきさいちんぐ🎉(`・∀・´)
Incredible.
This song+video was everything in the early 80's.
This is so powerful👌. I defenitively need to play this on the amplifier/ surround, as it sounds already so good on the telephone😮
The best part of this is the drummer he simply kills it here.
Wish I knew exactly which year this was. Judging by the inclusion of the string section, I’m going to guess it’s some time in between Porcupine and Ocean Rain. ‘83-‘84. They were definitely peak of their powers at that time. Especially Pete, who’s just giving it all he’s got here. Even when viewing him playing on the small screen of my phone, it still makes the hairs on my arms stand straight up. One of the greatest drummers of all time, easily.
Albert Hall 1983
Been a good long while since I last saw this footage. This was my second exposure to them (first was in the URGH! movie), back when it got some play on the nascent MTV, shortly after its inception. I had forgotten how different the intro is, compared to the album version. It’s much better this way. The early 80’s were a truly amazing time for new music. Along with the late 70’s, the greatest era ever, in my opinion. So many energetic, original, challenging new bands and sounds… and Echo were at the forefront of it all. Between 1980 and ‘84, they were as close to “flawless” as it got.
Tá ka gota Ian , segunda melhor banda de Liverpool , a primeira nem me lembro qual é….
Seeing their live shows then and comparing it to their performances of late -- the difference lies in the energy. They're having fun here.
Though still a decent live act, they just haven’t been able to keep up with their former glory ever since Pete left this plane. He was/is irreplaceable. He set the bar impossibly high.
One of the best bands EVER.
From 1979 through ’84 at least.
Fan rushes the stage and Ian, he doesn't even miss a beat. Fights buddy off and keeps going. Absolute LEGEND
Their 80s stuff so much better than the rubbish they did when they came back in the 90s. Not edgy like this early stuff
Villiers Terrace
Wow. Love this.
Good Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!
Diamonds are forever
Makes one's hair stand on end!
They were incredible live, esp. the drummer. Saw them first in 1981 opening for Bauhaus in Hamburg, Markthalle. Never heard them before, my girlfriend and I came for Bauhaus. I am not the one dancing at concerts, but we both did. Again this drummer❤❤❤
Wow… Echo and Bauhaus? Now there’s a hell of a bill! And in ‘81 no less. Beautiful.
supporting bauhaus?
@@griffo-griffo hard to believe, but true. Nov. 30, 1981, Hamburg Markthalle. “Englisch für Fortgeschrittene” tour with 4 dates in Germany. It was more a two bands concert, but Echo played first. If you google it, you find the poster for the gigs.
The first two mins of this clip are THE GREATEST LIVE BUNNYMEN PERFORMANCE!!!
But… what? The rest of it sucks?
I love so many of their songs and performances. But this live performance of this song is my all time favorite!!!
Heavily played on early MTV. How many kids started playing the bass because of this song? Incredible
Yes, this certainly did get some push in the very early days of MTV (‘81-‘82), but unfortunately it was before MTV carried much clout with mainstream radio. Here in the states at least, it took until ‘87 before the mainstream finally started embracing them, and by then they were pretty well coming apart at the seams. I was very much accustomed to being immersed in underground sounds throughout the 80’s, and Echo’s first 4 records had remained at the front of my stack all through the decade, but it was so unbelievably frustrating watching them crank out one incredible album after another, without it catching fire with everyone else. A lot of the bands I was into back then, I knew were never going to get mainstream acceptance, and that was fine… but I always felt that Echo *SHOULD HAVE* been at the very least just as huge as U2 were, if not much bigger…. but that’s the world for you. Oh well.
This was a raw ballsy performance, I don't care what you say it's just ripped my face off
MTV used to play this video fairly often back in the early days. I remember how much I loved that bass line. Now I finally know how to play it
Greatest band second only to The Beatles
Outstanding
Bunnymen at their absolute best.
Totally agree!!!!
They were at their best for about 5 straight years, from 1979 through ‘84.
This version is rocking!
Wow!The Bunnymen back then were really something
They still are something...Ian still has it.
I remember this video from the early days of MTV and it was my first exposure to the Bunnymen!!!! I was hooked and still one of my all time favourites!
I think this song saved my life, if you know what I mean.
❤❤❤ Ecko 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👍👍
"Crocodiles" blows me away as much today as it did when it was released in 1980. I'll never forget one of my neighbors who was already in college, turning me onto this one.
One of the greatest debut albums of all time, and the beginning of one of the greatest 4 album runs ever produced by a single band.
'When we were kings'. Simply the best band of the 80's. Thank you Echo and the Bunnymen for making my life better.
Yes !!!
One of the best of the 80’s. There was no shortage of mind blowing bands in the first half of that decade.
C?
Like the title but what is it about
My guess is drugs.
Lead by
Pete on drums... ace
R.i.p Pete.. one of the best drummers ever .
Sitting here 35+ yrs later think8ng about this amazing video which, in my opinion, elevates this song to another level. Found it and THANK YOU to whoever put this out there. Cheers!
When the 60s ended The Beatles passed the baton to Led Zeppelin, and at the end of the 70s they in turn handed it to Echo and the Bunnymen... 🐐🐐🐐
Sefton Park
damn it looked like someone tried to tackle the frontman, good performance
I like how he elbows them in the stomach without missing a beat.
When I heard this version of "Do It Clean", I was hooked!
This is really a retro 60s song I really love it thank you so much!
Interesting. poor lads should have had better moms and dads.
This whole concert is the band at their absolute zenith. I’m glad they never turned into another U2 stadium type outfit. They would have lost that touch they had. They were so tight as a unit. I’ve always wondered who the kid playing guitar and wore shorts was????
Mike Mooney, he was the lead guitarist for Mac's solo career and i believe he played with Spiritualized too.
